1. O, my Lord Jesus Christ! By grace I am apprised Of gifts esteemed; Filled with the Holy Ghost, Among Thy chosen host, I may now take my post, Ever redeemed!
2. O, this redemption bond, It goes so far beyond My carnal view. Thy merciful nature Forever will endure, And Thy word doth assure Thy promise true.
3. As Jesus died for me And in the grave did lie So I the same, Immersed and buried there, I’m resurrected where I no more death shall share. Praised be His name!
4. The body that believes, Thy Son as head receives In union strong; So I, the scornful one, This membership have won, Since to the blessed Son I now belong.
5. Thy grace so rich and free, To me in high degree Thou dost unfold; Thou only, great and strong, Couldst break the dreadful thong, And draw from Satan’s throng Into Thy fold.
6. Therefore my voice I’ll raise In glad and joyous praise Now on this shore, And then in chorus clear I’ll sing Thy praises near, O Lord, to Thy blest ear Forevermore.
