1. Hallelujah, fairest morning, Fairer than my tongue can say! For today my cares are banished, This shall be my happy day! By its sweetness and its rest Shall the inner man be blest!
2. Sunday full of holy glory, Sweetest rest day of the soul! Light upon the darkened caverns From Thy blessed moments roll! Holy, happy, heav’nly day, Thou canst charm my grief away!
3. How I taste my Father’s goodness Falling like the morning dew. Calling me from out my cottage To His pastures sweet and new! Leading me by waters still There my thirsting soul to fill!
4. Slumber now, my worldly business, For today I am engaged; All my strength and all my efforts I have to the Master pledged. Praising God, to watch and pray, Is my duty for today.
