Laurentius Laurentii

Son of a Burgess of Husum, Laurentius entered the University of Rostock in 1681. A year later, he went to Kiel to study music. In 1684, he was appointed cantor at the church in Bremen. His works include Evangelia Melodica, das ist: Geistliche Lieder, and Lobjesange, nach dem Sinn der ordentlichen Son(Spiritual Songs and Songs in Praise and Agreement with the Gospels of Sunday and Holidays) Bremen, 1700. He died in Bremen, Germany, at the age of 62. Only two of his hymns are in the Zion's Harp.
