1. Though troubles assail And dangers affright, Though friends should all fail And foes all unite, Yet one thing secures us Whatever betide, This promise assures us: “The Lord will provide!”
2. Though often the heart With storms be oppressed, Afflictions do smart, By Satan distressed, “O what shall befall us?” We wearily sighed; Still He who protects us, “The Lord will provide!”
3. His call we obey As Abram of old, Not knowing our way, But faith makes us bold; Where’er He shall lead us, The way He doth guide; He knows best who rules us; “The Lord will provide!”
4. When Satan appears, Obstructing our path And fills us with fears, We conquer by faith; He cannot take from us, Though oft he has tried, The heart-cheering promise: “The Lord will provide!”
5. He tells us we’re weak, Our hope is in vain; The good that we seek We shall not obtain; Yet when such temptations Our patience have tried, In this we find solace: “The Lord will provide!”
6. Though merit and strength We do not possess, And honor and wealth Our souls would distress; In Thy name, Lord Jesus, We’ll ever abide, And thus we say: “Amen, The Lord will provide!”
